Biography

Have I piqued your curiosity?

Interested in getting to know me better? Good! The feeling is mutual. While I can’t get too specific in this public online forum, I’d be glad to share some highlights with you.

I have often been told that I possess wisdom far beyond my years. Perhaps that’s because I’ve already lived such a full, rich life for my relatively young age… though it took me a while to get here.

I grew up fairly sheltered in an East Coast suburb, the kind with big houses, manicured lawns, and excellent schools, but which I found painfully boring. Straight A’s were non-negotiable, and an ambitious schedule of academics, arts, athletics, and volunteering kept me busy and led to numerous accolades. Yet these socially-approved accomplishments did little to quench my thirst for adventure, excitement, and connection.

The opportunity to leave home to pursue an elite liberal arts education couldn’t have come a moment sooner.

I have always been incredibly curious about the world around me: people, places, and things, as well as that which cannot be seen or known. Whenever possible, I endeavor to understand how things work; I want to know what makes people tick. I especially long to immerse myself in unfamiliar places, cultures, and cuisines, both domestically and abroad. My sharp intellect and insatiable curiosity have been primary drivers of my ambition throughout my life.

So I was fortunate to spend part of my college years studying and traveling in Europe, which opened my eyes to new ways of seeing and moving through the world.

I had spectacular experiences paragliding over the rolling hills of France, hiking across the snow-capped peaks of the Swiss Alps, and swimming in the cool blue waters of the Mediterranean. I enthusiastically immersed myself in the arts, culture, and cuisine of Barcelona, Florence, London, Istanbul, and Berlin. Finally, my desire for travel, adventure, and expanded horizons began to be satisfied (albeit always temporarily).

But there was a piece missing that travel alone couldn’t satisfy…

A certain type of adventure and excitement that is less about being among and more about the connection between. Specifically, between two (or perhaps more) people who allow lust to take over, sparks to fly, who lead each other into uncharted waters. The intensely erotic chemistry that is born of shared intellectual, emotional, and physical connection. And in particular, the unique brand of intimacy that is made possible by a mutual investment in co-creating an unforgettable experience together.

And so I found myself in the demimonde…

A titillating secret world that many wonder about but few have the privilege of experiencing directly. I have dared to explore realms that others have only dreamed of. As it turns out, my insatiable curiosity, adventurous spirit, and penchant for intimate connection have allowed me to feel quite at home here.

Fast forward to today…

As much as I love to travel, I’m equally at home in Washington, DC. I find that this city provides ample opportunity for variety and excitement. On any given weekend, I’m likely to be roaming the galleries of an art museum, exploring local forest trails, or curled up on the sofa with my cats, sipping tea.

As you may have gathered, I am a passionate intellectual; there are few things I enjoy more than learning. My extensive personal library includes books on art, anthropology, sexuality, and spirituality, as well as poetry and fiction classics.

Podcasts are my not-so-guilty pleasure these days (your recommendations are welcome!), since there’s something inexplicably satisfying about multi-tasking while absorbing new info straight from my earbuds.

When I’m not nerding out, I spend a good amount of time eating and drinking my way through DC’s incredible (and ever-expanding) food scene, and I very much hope you’ll join me! I have lots of favorite restaurants, hotels, museums, and other local activities, which I share more about here.

Despite my loftier pursuits, I’m very down-to-earth and easy to connect with (promise). Nothing is more enjoyable to me than a good laugh! I delight in good company and refuse to take myself too seriously. I love to surround myself with others who also have a sense of humor, so I hope that can be you!
